Rise and shine

We got up bright and early this morning 5am to drop Shane off at work so we can run some errands today. After dropping him off, getting donuts from Krispie Creme we went to the grocery store via car this time. The kids are back in bed now and it time for me to clean the kitchen yet again. Really its the only room I can clean 3 times a day and it still be a disaster every night and morning! Maybe if I stopped cooking it would solve my problem....haha. If only....
Levi has lost weight....well really he just hasn't gained any and instead grew taller therefor making some of his clothes rather loose.
Mommy and Levi, smiling away.

Our loot from this mornings shopping trip spent $12 and saved $12!

Shane's lunch, just in case anyone was wondering what he will be eating today. Leftover meatloaf turned into sandwich, peach, celery and carrots with ranch, and cookies. The lunch box is a Bento (Japanese) style lunch box. We have several different kids this is a laptop lunch brand.

A new garden plot freshly tilled and planted with cucumbers, watermelon, cantaloupe, butternut squash and sweet potatoes.

Our harvest from this morning.

No Garden!

We didn't get any gardening done yesterday. It started raining mid morning and didn't stop until late into the night. While the sun has been shining today and its beautiful, I have the energy of a turtle! I am soooo tired and just wanna sleep. Of course my babies don't so I guess I'll just wait until bedtime. :(

If you are feeling "crafty" and have more energy than me you might want to try your hand at making your own shopping bags. It can easily be done using old t-shirts.

Go here to find out how!

Gardening Anyone???

Ok, finally (I think) my seedlings are ready to go to the garden. I will be spending most of today planting my garden and cleaning the always dirty kitchen. I hope to take a break and head to CVS for some great deals today. Nothing like getting paid to shop! Keep a look out for the pictures of the garden later today.

We have planted:
Corn
Squash
Zucchini
Tomatoes
Melons
Okra
Jalapenos
Lettuce
Various flowers

Our Garden...Part 1

This is what I started with for our garden. My husband tilled me this little plot back in Jan. We covered it up so no weeds would get in it.

This was the next step after taking the tarp off to getting the garden ready for planting. I added 280 lbs of Organic Humus and Manure.

She is tasting the compost for me ;) I don't guess it tasted too good because she didn't go back for a second bite....hey, at least its organic.

After I dug the beds and added compost to them.

Here are some of the potato plants my husband planted in Feb. We cut a small hole through the tarp so they could get light.

So far I have planted lettuce, tomatoes, peas, and watermelon. I don't have a "green" thumb so I am really hoping they grow.
