Re-arranging AGAIN!! Kitchen

BEFORE:

AFTER:

This is where the table was, now it houses an extra pantry and the elliptical machine that was in the dining room.
This is where the cupboard in the dining room was that held the baking supplies. Now this shelf hold the baking supplies and cookbooks.

Re-arranging....AGAIN! Dinning Room

You'd think since we just moved I wouldn't be doing this. But I found after living here for a couple months that the way I had things set up just wasn't working for us. So now, I am in the process of changing just about the whole house....at least the down stairs anyway.

Dinning room
BEFORE: I turned it into an office/playroom...that wasn't working as it would get really messy from all the toys.

AFTER:
Since we have two under two I decided to put a rug down to keep spills onto the carpet a minimum. I was really wanting a bamboo or judo rug but that was way out of my price range ($150-$200) so I settled for this rug which has the color and texture of what I was looking for. Soon, I'll have my husband paint the legs of the table white to match the cupboard and get the "country" look I am going for.
This used to be our "baking cabinet" but instead I thought it would look ultra cute with our dishes in it, plus its close to the table.

Finally Finished!

After 6 straight hours of peeling, coring, and canning I am finally finished with the pears. A neighbor of ours let us pick as many pears as we wanted from their tree....two laundry baskets later I thought we'd have enough pears to last us till next year.
We ended up with 12 Quarts, 12 pints of pears and 40 ounces of pear baby food (waiting in the freezer until we start feeding him next month!).
Not too bad...huh?!?!

The new seat....for a BIG boy.

The boy is just getting too big too fast. Not even four months yet and he has "outgrown" his baby seat. I ordered him a new car seat from overstock.com about 2 weeks ago, and it finally arrived today! UPS had the wrong address so it took about a week longer to arrive than it should have. Never the less, here he is. Cute as a button!

His feet still stick over the edge.......AHHHHHHHHH I don't know what we are going to do about that....poor baby will just be kicking the seat I guess. Only 9 more months Levi and I promise Daddy will turn you around so you can have some leg room. ;)

Here's what 9 cans of spray paint will get you....

No......not a baby, but some nice matching furniture. Below are some before pictures of the dresser and crib. Although they are at the old house when the kids where sharing a room. Now Levi has his own room!

Before Pictures:
Dresser Before
Crib Before...all the other furniture is long gone...

Nursing Corner
My baby's bed all decked out with his favorite blanket and pillow!

Now, on to the next room!

We made it!!!!!

Well, the storm has come and gone and we are still here. It wasn't bad really at all....we just about slept through it. In the morning everyone woke up to see the damage. So we all put shoes on and went to go pick up tree limbs....except Levi, he was still sleeping soundly.

Since that is out of the way on to more important things.

Please follow us are we do a re-cap of summer. I'll be posting pictures soon.

Tropical Storm Hanna

We may be gone for a few days while tropical storm Hanna does her thing. Please keep not only us, but others who will be affected by this storm, and those who were affected by Gustov in your prayers....we could all use it.

In the trash??

You never know what you will find in the trash. On our way to a friends house after church we stumbled upon this in her neighbors trash....No, not the baby, the chair. Its in perfect condition. Who knows why they were throwing it out, but I quickly scooped it up and brought it home! It was clean, but we cleaned it anyway. The kids love it especially Annabelle. Not only is it cute, but it matches our furniture!...Big plus. So keep an eye out cause you never know what you will find in the trash....

It was such a beautiful morning and chilly too at 62 degrees! We all went outside to watch the birds and get some fresh air.

Smelling the basil....

Canning season??

A friend and I got together Monday and put up some peaches and applesauce. Not only did we have fun, but now we have some wonderful fruit to show for it. I love homemade applesauce much, much more than anything you can buy in the store. Haven't tried canning peaches yet, so we'll see how these did. Economically, it is cheaper to can peaches yourself at .99 cents a lb than buy them in the store (at least at our local prices). It is much cheaper to buy applesauce in the store, but it doesn't taste near as good, so every year we can some when apples get really cheap in the fall.
